A. Session Year

The session year of the DPR commences on august 16 and ends on august 15 in the subsequent year and if august 16 falls on a holiday, the opening of the session year is on the previous working day.

The session Year is divided into four session periods. A Session period includes session period and recess period, except the racess period is abolished in the last session of a DPR membership term.

The session period, schedule and session agenda are determined by the steering Commite with due observance of the timeliness of the discussion of the bill on the state revenues and expenditures budget (APBN)and its Financial Memorandum as well as the bill on Revision to APBN.

The main agenda on the first day of the session Year is the Presidential State Adress before the Plenary Meeting. If the President is unable to attend, the state Adress is delivered by the Vice President.

6. Commission Meeting;
7. Joint Commissian Meeting;
8. Legislation Council Meeting;
9. Household Committee Meeting;
10. BKSAP Meeting;
11. Budget Committee Meeting;
12. Conduct Council Meeting;
13. Ad-hoc Committee Meeting;
14. Working Committee or Team Meeting;
15. Working Meeting;
16. Hearing;
17. Public Hearing;
18. Sub-Commission meeting.

A Plenary Meeting is a meeting of Members chaired by the Leadership of the DPR and constitutes the highest forum in performing the tasks and exercising the authorities of the DPR.

An Extraordinary Plenary Meeting is a Plenary Meeting held during a Recess Period if: requested by the President upon the approval of the Leadership of the DPR; requested by the Leadership of the DPR upon the approval of the Steering Committee; proposed by at least 13 (thirteen) Members upon the approval of the Steering Committee.

A Working Meeting is a meeting between a Commission, Joint Commission, Legislation Council, Budget Committee, Ad-hoc Committee and the Government, in this regard the President or the Minister/Leaders of a Ministerial-level institution appointed to the President, or and a Complementary Organ of the DPD (Regional Representative Council) at the invitation of the leadership of the DPR, chaired by the leadership of the Commission, the leadership of the joint Commission meeting, the leadership of the legislation Council, the leadership of the budget Committee or the leadership of the ad-hoc Committee.

A Hearing is a meeting between a Commission, Joint Commission, Legislation Council, Budget Committee or Ad-hoc Committee and Government official representing their agencies, both at the invitation of the Leadership of the DPR and at the Request of the Government official concerned, chaired by the leadership of the Commission, the leadership of the Joint Commission Meeting, the leadership of the Legislation Council, the leadership of the Budget Committee or the leadership of the Ad-hoc Committee.

A Public Hearing is a meeting between a Commission Joint Commission, Legislation Council, Budget Committee or Ad-hoc Committee and individuals, groups, organizations or a private sector, chaired by the leadership of the Commission, the leadership of the Joint Commission Meeting, the leadership of the Legislation Council, the leadership of the Budget Committee or the leadership of the Ad-hoc Committee.

C. Nature of meeting of the DPR of the Republic of Indonesia

A Plenary meeting, extraordinary Plenary Meeting, Commission Meeting, Joint Commission Meeting, Legislation Council Meeting, Budget Committee Meeting, ad-hoc Committee Meeting, Working Meeting, Hearing and public hearing are basically public in nature, unless those meetings decide to be in camera(behind closed-doors).

DPR Leadership Meeting, Meeting of the leadership of Other DPR Complementary Organs, steering Committee or team Meeting basically in camera, unless those meeting are decided as public.

Public meeting is a meeting attended by Members and non-Members, whether invited or otherwise. Closed-door meeting is a meeting which can be attended only by Members and those invited.
