House Task Force Gives Aid to Accelerate Covid-19 Handling
Covid-19 Task Force led by the Vice Speaker for Economy and Finance of the House, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, gave some herbal medicines, Personal Protective Equipment and guidance books on the handling of Covid-19 to patients being treated in the emergency hospital at Kemayoran Athletes Village, Jakarta. Herbal medicines were among the aid given as one of the ways to boost patients’ immunity against Covid-19.
“We give them guide books on what to do when somebody is infected with Covid-19, herbal medicines and medicine bottles for 1500 patients,” said Dasco to the media after granting the aid on Tuesday (14/4/2020). He was accompanied by the Vice Speaker for Politics and Security of the House, M. Azis Syamsuddin, and several Members of the House joining in the House’ Covid-19 Task Force.
Prior to granting the aid, the Task Force had already coordinated with the State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto, and the operations leader of Covid-19 emergency hospital at Kemayoran Athletes Village Maj. Gen. Eko Margiyono. Based on the information the Task Force received, there were 368 patients confirmed Covid-19, 127 patients under treatment status (PDP) and 47 people under surveillance status (ODP) being treated at the hospital.
Dasco also explained that the aid was meant to help the central and local governments accelerate the handling of Covid-19. In joining the effort to handle the Covid-19, the House deemed it necessary to form Covid-19 Task Force consisting of Members of Parliaments across parties responsible to the Speaker of the House.
