Legislative Function of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI)

The legislative function is carried out as a manifestation of the DPR RI as the holder of the power to form laws. Every bill (RUU) is discussed jointly by the DPR RI and the President to obtain mutual approval. Discussions involve the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) for bills within its authority. The law formation stage consists of planning, drafting, discussion, and ratification. The DPR RI opens space for public participation at every stage of law formation.
